Tesla Gigafactory Nevada
Jacob conceived of and designed the ultra-low energy and water consuming multi-megawatt scale factory-wide cooling system at Tesla’s Gigafactory Nevada between 2015 and 2018. The unique, customized plant utilizes a massive chilled water thermal storage system combined with high efficiency, low water intensity ambient cooling to deliver large amounts of cooling at very low cost. Jacob performed all of the system modeling for the plant, developed hourly performance simulations, sourced equipment, worked alongside the EPC team to help them generate construction documents, and guided the construction and proper turn on of the plant.
American Battery Technology Company Pilot Plant
Tailored Enthalpy (TE) worked alongside American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) to build out their first of kind pilot-scale battery recycling plant. TE has been provided services to design an efficient factory floor plan, process flow, and thermal plant. TE is worked with the client to specify utility and process equipment.
Form Energy Thermal Modeling
Tailored Enthalpy built a detailed 1D thermal model for Form Energy to evaluate HVAC equipment selection for utility scale energy storage installations. The model was customized to Form's needs to illustrate cost sensitivity to various thermal design and control decisions.
